Oh boy. Vidya Games. Lets talk games a bit, shall we?
My first job ever was at an SA studio doing 'game concept art' in 2015. It turned into a train-wreck of a company which I shall-not-name. So I landed a better job as a storyboard artist and moved to Sydney. I did however, participate with the Global Game Jam in 2016 for the first time. I had a blast and made awesome friends! It made me realise, game dev doesn't have to be a train-wreck, it is a powerful medium and can be really fun with the right people! I still love the GGJ but South Australia's game 'scene' doesn't bother to host it currently...BOOOOOO.
After going through some life hardship, I was in a creative rut. So I began experimenting with making games on my own to do something completely different. I discovered the static game engine called RenPy in 2021 and felt super empowered by the ability to make a clickable story!
My first visual novel project was Rubble and Rust and I am still a bit attached to it. Disclaimer, I'm not super proud of the finished product, I don't care enough to refine it and 'publish it'. but am still happy to leave links up so people can see my growth. I may revisit the story in the future.
Most of these are also downloadable/playable off of my itch.io, but you can play most of them on my by clicking on their banners here. But to make it very clear, the GML ones are hobby projects. I am NOT a trained programmer, and am certainly NOT good at it. But hey, unlike many people who stick to what they're experts at in order to not look like a fool...I proudly tried something way out of my comfort zone.
So if the games break, refresh and try not to break them again, lol.
I guess my game dev efforts have born some fruit, as in 2023, I was lucky enough to be invited to speak on a panel at AVCon called 'Women in Games'. It was an honour!
Above all, I love making games! Thanks for checking them out!
I've always wanted a potion mixing game...took me awhile to get my head around the design. Works really well playing with a tablet pen!
A small nonfiction visual novel made for the Adelaide game dev community's SlamJam4 to the theme of 'fracture'. Also, I wrote it so I could feel like I developing some writing for my university class.
Made for 2025 Feb Touhou Jam 15 to the theme of 'Scale'. Reused some aquatic sprites from past games, cuz I can.
Finally made a minijam game loosely inspired off of psych ward experience, as if maybe I can process any of this trauma...
Visual novel done for MiniJam 'Cyber'. WIP. RenPy is buggy in HTML5 but it's better than nothing?
Done for Rhythm Jam 2024 to the theme of 'Divergence'.
